In summer, the spectacular mountains on the border between Italy and Austria, the holiday region of the Upper Pusteria Valley, invite you to come hiking, walking and climbing in Sillian and the surrounding area. The area offers a wide range of possibilities for mountain enthusiasts, from the simplest to the more challenging climbing routes.
Here, in the sunny southern side of the Alps, hikers follow the lure of the majestic mountain ranges such as the Villgraten Mountains, the Carnic Alps and the Sexten and Lienz Dolomites.
And, after a hike in South Tyrol (Italy) or in East Tyrol (Austria), you can enjoy traditional cuisine in the typical shelters of the area – because this, too, is hiking in the Upper Pusteria Valley!
By the way: our certified mountain guide, Hannes Grüner, will be pleased to organize your climbing or hiking in the area. During the summer, Hannes will accompany you in exploring the alpine valley and its beautiful side valleys, such as the Villgraten Valley, a paradise for hikers.
